The
Sussex Development Gala was held at Horsham swimming pool over
two weekends Sunday 29th Oct and Sunday 12th
November where the swimmers tried hard to obtain qualifying
times for the Sussex County Meet in February.
There were some fantastic
swims with medals, ribbons and PBs. Most notably
Rosemarie Miller came away with 4 golds, Rosie Sandford a
gold, silver and bronze and Abby Rowe gained a bronze and a
County qualifying time.
Boys
10yrs
Ben Kemp, Leon Young and Owen Scrivens each achieved a PB in
the 50m Breaststroke. They each swam well considering this was
the first time some had entered an open competition.
Boys
12 yrs
Benjamin Scrivens achieved PBs in 200metres and 100m
Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle.
Girls
9years /10 yrs
Beverly Voller, Darcy Cunningham-Stockdale and Abby Rowe raced
in the 50m Back and Freestyle 100IM, 200m Breaststroke and
Freestyle. Abby
managed to gain a bronze medal for her 200m breast and ribbon
for 5th place in the 50m Back

12yrs,
Sarah Barron
& Rosemarie Miller achieved PBs with
Rosemarie wining Gold
in the 200m breaststroke, 200m freestyle, 200IM & 100m
backstroke.
Girls
13yrs
Bethan Scrivens had some fantastic swims and is getting closer
to those qualifying times she obtained PBs and raced in the
100m freestyle, breast, back & fly - 200m free,
breaststroke, back and IM.
Girls
14yrs
Rosie Sanford (attending on the 31st Oct only) won
ribbons for 200m & 100m breaststroke & 100m Freestyle.
She missed the second weekend of the Sussex Development
Gala as she was the only Bognor representative at the Dorking
Annual Open Meet.
Rosie
had some amazing swims there and won 1st place in
the 100m breaststroke gaining a gold medal in a personal best
time, she also took silver for 100m freestyle, and bronze for
the 100m backstroke. Her last race was the 100IM in which she
obtained a 10 second PB but just missed out on the medals but
taking home a ribbon for 4th place.
