Three
swimmers from Bognor swimming club competed at
Guildford
in their level 1 summer licensed meet. Up and coming swimmer
Elanor Loveman age 11 continues to make huge improvements in
all her races and she was placed second in the 400IM, 100m
breaststroke and 200m breaststroke. All these swims were
personal bests and she is now getting ever closer to the very
challenging times set for the national championships.
Harriet
Lambourne age 13 limited her races to the 400IM and 200m
freestyle hoping to gain national times in both races.
Unfortunately due to a number of swimmers dropping out of the
400IM she ended up with no one to push her and she missed out
by 3/10ths of a second although she did gain a personal best
time and the gold medal. It was a different story in the 200m
freestyle where she set off at a fast pace and easily made the
national qualifying time with a personal best and a second
gold medal.
Sophie
Trotter age 16 has been tantalisingly close to three national
times over the last couple of months and although she was
unable to achieve them this time she still achieved a gold
medal in the 100m breaststroke and a silver medal in the 50m
freestyle against some strong opposition.

Elanor
and Harriet plus Jack Smith, George Smith, Sam Rowe, Rebecca
Newman Georgina Highfield and Katie Addison have all qualified
for the South East Region Age Group Championships to be held
at the new 50m pool at
Crawley
during the first couple of weeks in June. This is an excellent
achievement for the club as last year only two swimmers
qualified for this event.
