BRSC put in
a good team performance in the Sussex League Division 2
fixture on Saturday 25th February.
Fielding a
mixture of youth and experience the team got off to a flying
start thanks to some excellent winning swims from Harriet
Lambourne, Sophie Trotter and Jack Smith, which gave Bognor
the lead after ten events.
Throughout the meet, Harriet, Sophie and Jack dominated
proceedings, picking up 11 individual wins between them.
Katie
Addison won the girls under 15 backstroke in fine style and
went on to help the girls under 15 relay team of Bethan
Scrivens, Becky Newman and Harriet Lambourne notch up firsts
in both the freestyle and medley events.
George
Smith contributed in the under 11 boys category with 2 fine
individual wins while brother Jack was once again leading the
way, helping the boys under 13 freestyle relay team of William
Addison, Luke Miller and Sam Rowe to a deserved 1st
place.
With
the Sussex League format requiring 2 Club swimmers in each
event, strength in depth was always going to be a deciding
factor. This
proved to be the case as Bognor eventually finished in 2nd
place on a creditable 324 points behind the winners
Littlehampton.
