BRSC Girls Captain, Sophie Trotter competed in the recent South East Regional Championships which were held between 29th April - 1st May.

Sophie got into 3 finals and managed top 8 places in 4 events for which she got rosettes including: 

  100m Breaststroke -7th 
  200m Individual Medley - 7th 
  50m Freestyle - 5th (personal best)
  400m Individual Medley - 7th (personal best) 

In the 50m Freestyle, Sophie was just fractions away from a National qualifying time so she swam it again as a split in the 100 Freestyle with 3 timekeepers at the end of the lane. Sophie achieved yet another personal best time by clocking 28.66 (in a 50m pool) but it left her an agonising 0.01 outside the National qualifying time. 

This was a frustrating result for Sophie but it does not overshadow her achievements and overall level of performance in the Championships.  She also got a pb in the 200m Freestyle.
